WOODRx Clear Wood Protector Technical Data Sheet
WOODRx Clear Wood Protector is a clear, non-yellowing, water based wood sealer designed to penetrate, seal and protect exterior wood surfaces. WOODRx resists moisture penetration and retards the aging process of new wood. It contains an effective fungicide which resists mildew growth on the film and UV inhibitors which filter out the sun's harmful rays.

Recommended Uses:
For use on virtually all exterior wood surfaces such as decks, docks, sidings, fences and cedar shake roofs. May also be used on properly prepared pressure treated lumber.

Surface Preparation:
Dirt, grease, grime and any foreign materials should be removed before applying WOODRx. Surface must be clean and free from any and all contaminants. Contact a WOODRx representative for detailed surface preparation specifications.
  1. Repair or replace all rotten, splitting, cracking, loose or missing wood. Replace all broken or corroded fasteners.
  2. Treat for mildew using a solution of bleach and water.
  3. Pressure treated lumber should be treated with WOODRX Surface Prep and pressure wash.
  4. Smooth new wood should be lightly sanded to insure proper penetration and adhesion
Application:
Brush, roller, airless spray or garden spray. A 3/8 - 1/2 inch nap is recommended on smooth surfaces. When spraying, use a tip designed for gloss enamel wall coatings or contact a WOODRx representative. Two coats are recommended for maximum performance.

Recommended Thinner:
WOODRx does not require thinning and should be used as-is directly from the container.

General:
Mix product thoroughly. Apply with brush, roller or spray. Apply when surface temperatures are at least 50 degrees F and rising. Do not thin with paint thinners.

Safety:
Improper handling or use may be hazardous. Recommended safety precautions for storage, handling, and application must be observed.

Safety Information:
No special protection is required. Use normal industrial protective equipment when handling material. In case of spills, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with applicable regulations. Do not flush into sewer.

Notes:
Clean tools and equipment with soap and fresh water. Store and maintain spray equipment as directed by the manufacturer.

Coverage (theoretical):
Coverage will depend on porosity and contour of the surface to be coated. 306 Square Feet per gallon @ 1 Mil DFT on a smooth surface. 200-400 Square feet per gallon is recommended.
