| WOODRx
is, by far, the best prescription for ant wood surface. It is
technologically advanced, water based finish that effectively
penetrates, seals and protects exterior wood surfaces. WOODRx
resists moisture penetration and retards the aging (silvering)
process of new wood. It contains an effective fungicide which
resists growth on the film and a powerful UV screener that
conventional, competitive wood sealers and is available in our
Natural and Redwood shades, as well as, an unlimited array of
custom colors. |
Recommended
Uses: For use on virtually all exterior wood surfaces such
as decks, docks, sidings, fences and cedar shake roofs. May
also be used on properly prepared pressure treated wood and
previously stained surfaces.
Surface Preparation:Dirt, grease, grime and any foreign
material should be removed before applying WOODRx. Surface
must be clean and free from all contaminants. Contact a WOODRx
representative for detailed surface preparation
specifications. |
- Repair or replace all
rotten, splitting, cracking, loose or missing wood.
Replace all broken or corroded fasteners.
- Mildew and algae: Apply a
solution of household bleach and water to all surfaces
being coated. Strength of solution will depend on severity
of contamination (typically one part bleach to two parts
water). Scrub into grain with a stiff brush, rinse
thoroughly and repeat if necessary.
- Pressure treated lumber
should be scrubbed thoroughly with WOODRx Surface Prep and
washed with a 2,500 PSI pressure cleaner.
- Smooth new wood should be
sanded with 50-80 grit sandpaper to remove mill glaze and
to ensure proper penetration and adhesion. Pressure
washing is highly reccommended to remove all contaminents,
however, extreme care must be taken to avoid damaging wood
|
| Application:
Stir WOODRx thoroughly before use. Apply liberally with
brush, roller or spray equipment. Do not apply in direct hot
sunlight or when surface temperatures are below 50 degrees F.
If surface is hot and dry, cool down with clean, fresh water
and apply WOODRx to cool, moist surface. If surface is heavily
weathered with checking and cracks, apply enough WOODRx to
thoroughly penetrate the cracks. Avoid runs on vertical
surfaces and puddles on horizontal surfaces. When applying
with a brush or roller, care must be taken to avoid "Lapping".
Always work with a wet edge and with the grain of the wood. Do
not stop in the middle of the board and try to come back later
to pick up where you left off. Stop at a logical breaking
point to avoid the possibility of creating lap marks. The
second coat may be applied as soon as the first coat is dry
enough to touch. Typically 2-4 hours. WOODRx will appear milky
when being applied but milkiness will disappear when fully
dried |
